“We would rather eat dirt than to go through the kind of oppression that we have gone through for 400 years,” --Albert Cleage Jr.

This weekend owner of the Dallas Cowboys Jerry Jones exerted slave ownership like control over his team, most of which are Black, by saying, if you don’t stand for the national anthem, you will not play.   While most military people will tell you the sideline protest of sitting during the national anthem is one of the rights we all joined in the military to protect.  However, this is being twisted into physical domination and white power rhetoric.

This is a excerpt from the book the Slave Laws, “The relatively small white populations were only too well aware that their societies depended entirely on forced labour, and could only survive through the operation of repressive laws. White domination was based on power. This operated at an institutional level, over the legal and economic aspects of slavery, as well as over the slaves themselves. Any honour or esteem attached to being a 31 slave-owner arose only from the power that he could exercise over the bodies of his slaves, and this had to be sanctioned by slave laws. Such laws meant that white men and women could exercise intimate power through punishment, torture and control of all a slave's physical needs.”

You could very easily apply this to what is currently going on in the NFL.  White Racism, forcing the physical bodies of Black men to do what they are told.  Shame on you Jerry Jones, and shame on you NFL players if you comply with this ridiculous and racist demand.

Vice President of the United States Mike Pence walked out of a game because players kneeled to bring attention to the problem of unarmed men, women and children being shot down at the hands of the police.   One news man called the incident a political stunt.  Trump later admitted he asked the VP to walk out if there was a protest, confirming, the walkout was a political stunt.  We have always known in any organization the vice president is a lap-dog position.

Many people are saying the NFL player’s association, the player’s union should do more to protect the rights of its men.  After the walkout the association said in a written statement, "We should not stifle these discussions and cannot allow our rights to become subservient to the very opinions our Constitution protects. That is what makes us the land of the free and home of the brave."

The NFL proved to be one of the most supportive institutions for the Trump campaign and remains in the bullseye of the Trump administration, attacking the very supporters that secured both he and Pence the White House, again calling in question his mental state.

America the land of the disgraced.
