Tax Plan Passes through Senate in Hours

republican Tax Plan passes

Scribe: Samuel Otis

Email: samuel@thethinkering.com

The infamous tax bill passed the Senate in a 51-48 vote after it seems the final holdouts were won over.

The New York Times reported Republican lawmakers unilaterally staged the bill and passed the bill with not a single democratic congress member in the room. The Tammany Hallesk bill processing exposes the vulnerabilities of a flawed two party system. Its a system that we sell around the world as the most fair and democratic way to decide on political decisions.

As the sitting president continues to dismantle anything Obama on Wednesday he said of the bill that marches its way up to the White House, "The United States Senate just passed the biggest in history Tax Cut and Reform Bill."

We the people No More

Scribe: Samuel Otis

Email: samuel@thethinkering.com

The apparent attack on everything Obama continuies as the new administration shuts down the “We The People” website. The site was established by the Obama administration in 2011, the White House promised to respond to every petition while the Trump administration has not responded to any since January.

The White house spends $4.94 million annually on information technology. Since January, popular petitions that have garnared teh required number of signitures have been ignored. Two of those peitions are interesting. On is asking for Presidnt Trump to resign and another calles for a release of his tax returns.

Since, the beginning of the year despite the number of signitures all petitions have gone unanswered.

Movies are made of stories of the protagonist fighting an uphill battle. He gets defeated and realizes there is more to know, and along his journey he meets a wise man who offers advice that would provide the single additional element that would put us in Victory Lane.

The country that birthed Muhammad Ali, a man who against all odds took on the entire United States Government, a government that took everything from this man who was never made whole again. Yet, he persevered and in most parts of the world become an icon of strength and courage and silenced his naysayers.

He said, “We don’t know who this person is,”he continued, “That’s the reality. We know we have three people murdered in a half mile of each other in 10 days. They were all walking alone. Probably minding their own business. Lord knows whoever is doing this.”

Driverless Bus Crashes

LV Driverless Bus Crash

Scribe: N. Tru Bass

Email: ntb@thethinkering.com

We have all recently seen diverless vehicles including a popular commercial featuring basketball future Hall of Famer LeBron James in the backseat of a driverless sedan.

In the city of Las Vegas on Wednesday a driverless shuttle bus crashed less than two hours after it was launched. The city made a bit to -do about the bus and described it as the first self driving shuttle pilot project in the U.S.

Two hours later it crashed into a semi-truck.

However, local reports suggest the issue was not with the driverless technology, but with th human in the second vehicle. This little snafu follows the congress passing the Self Drive Act in September fast tracking more than 100,000 test vehicles per year.

Even with the green light States still hold the power to to decide whether or not to permit self-driving cars.

The United States of America, is the last United Nations member state to refuse to commit to the upcoming Paris climate accord.

Before Trump took office the United States ratified the Paris Agreement aimed at limiting global warming to under degrees Celsius.

Syria was the penultimate country to sign the agreement. The war ravaged nation state agreed to signing the accord on Tuesday, leaving the U.S. out in the cold.

The current administration began the formal process to withdraw from the Paris climate accord in early August, but left the door open saying it would re-engage if terms are more favorable to the U.S.
