Veteran Senator and military veteran John McCain announced yesterday he had been diagnosed with a brain tumor.

The Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix said tests revealed a primary brain tumor known as a glioblastoma.  The prognosis of this type of aggressive tumor are not usually very good.   Late senator Edward Kennedy survived just under one year and six months after he was diagnosed with the same type of tumor.

He and his family are considering further treatment options but are expected to settle on a combination of chemotherapy and radiation.

In a social media missive former president Barack Obama said “John McCain is an American hero & one of the bravest fighters I've ever known. Cancer doesn't know what it's up against. Give it hell, John.”

Does Aunt Jemima live in Memphis?

Ms. Carter

Scribe:  Samuel Otis

Email:  samuel@thethinkering.com

“Ms. Carter is one of our very dear patients and has been for years. She is one of many African American patients and I count it a privilege to be their doctor. Anything I said that tarnishes that image and my respect for her was a misspoken blunder on my part and was not intended to show disrespect for Ms. Carter. I am very sorry for that misunderstanding.” Dr. James Turner a Memphis, Tennessee dermatologist made this statement after referring to Ms. Lexi Carter as “Aunt Jemima.”

Ms. Carter said that he called her by the name not once but twice during a recent visit, after which she called a local news station and reported the incident.

The name Aunt Jemima’s history is rooted in minstrel show when whites word ‘blackface’ while denigrating the existence of people of color for cheap laughs from other racists.

Did Putin purchase the White House?

Putin owning Trump

Scribe:  N. Tru Bass

There is nothing new about Donald Trump being referred to as a crook.  And in business that usually means becoming a pariah, although in his case, he had the bakers leveraged to the point they were encouraged to help him out of bad situation after bad situation.

The most recent incident is the Russian affair yet again.   Trump Jr. has been caught with his hand in the cookie proverbial cookie jar.     The sad part is the democrats and others in Washington, D.C. are willing to protect the institution at all cost – even if means opening the White House to a known unethical American Businessman.

The chumps’ racism is a well-known fact, as The Thinkering News and others have provided incident after incident of immoral behavior.

N. Tru Bass: Sandra Bland's Death Sparks New Laws and Possible Killer Walks

Sandra Bland

Scribe:  N. Tru Bass

Email:  ntb@thethinkering.com

Op/Ed

Sandra Bland was found dead in a Texas jail cell three days after a traffic stop conducted by Brian Encinia.   He was the only person charged with a crime surrounding Bland’s senseless death, and he was only charged with perjury, for saying that Bland was, “combative and uncooperative,” when he made the stop in rural Houston.  When Dashcam video was released, it’s obvious the officer lied about the nature of the stop.

On Wednesday, charges of Perjury were dropped.

It seemed that only Black Lives Matters and African American organizations were incensed, when in fact the Criminal Justice system should have been incensed.  The 28-year-old, African American woman was found dead in the Waller County Jail.

One of the controversial statements made by Durden called the America a racists society according to local media.

Liar, Liar, pants on fire -- Working class whites wake up to a duplicitous White House

Liar

Three-time presidential candidate Ralph Nader said in a Sunday interview called the Republican the most Vicious political party in American history.   The Washington stalwart pointed to the current president of the US, appointing his son in law to a prominent position, and being accused of attempting to create a communication backdoor with the Russians.

Pundits say that if a democratic president was in office he would either be arrested or kicked out into the street the same day the people became aware of his misdeeds.

The power is clear, the White House is republican, both congressional houses are in the red and on the state level, people are beginning to ask what’s a democrat.

Trump Admits No Comey Tapes

Lying Ass Trump

Scribe:  N. Tru Bass

The president of the United Started is a chronic liar.

In Mid-May while former FBI head James B. Comey testified before a congressional committee, Trump tweeted, “James Comey better hope that there are no ‘tapes’ of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!”  For me not only does it sound like a clear threat but it proves to be a threat based on a lie.

He had to confess via social media on Thursday that there were no tapes.  For the past five weeks the White house has dodged questions about the alleged tapes, that were used as a scare tactic while Comey was being questioned by lawmakers. Undaunted by the possibility of tapes Comey said that he hopes the president does have tapes.

Op/Ed

06 July 2016, Philando Castile was shot to death after a routine traffic stop in Minnesota.  Last week the police officer who fatally shot him was acquitted of all charges, but video recently released tells a story of a different kind.

The New York Times asked a number of professionals what they thought about the video and here is what they had to say:

About the Stop an Approach:

“The officer got too close to the passenger’s window. If I thought he was a robbery suspect, I would have had my hand on my gun. The tactics were a little laissez-faire if you thought you were dealing with an armed robbery suspect.” — Garry F. McCarthy, a former Chicago police superintendent

You probably remember Ethan Couch, the then 16-year-old who got drunk and killed four people and in his defense lawyers said that he suffered from “affluenza,” and did not know right from wrong because his family’s wealth spoiled him.

His mother Tonya Couch,50, was arrested later for hindering apprehension and money laundering for helping her son violate a probation deal that kept him out of jail.

Texas prosecutors are asking the court to revoke the bond for the Tonya due to her violating her bail terms.  A motion was filed in state court in Tarrant County saying she violated her bond by consuming alcohol.

Ethan Couch is serving a two-year jail sentence as part of his new probation condition, his original case was in juvenile court.

If convicted, Tonya couch could face up to 10 years in prison.
