Teams facing the New York Giants have to all cogitate all week on one man and that’s Odell Beckham, Jr.  On Sunday the Wide Receiver showed you why, catching 8 passes for 222 yards most of which came in the second half.

Two brilliant runs colored the game and showered negative sentiment off the player who has been bombarded with sentiment that negated his expertise on the field.  But, from the position of underdog, Beckham recorded the second-most total yardage in franchise history.   The record was set in 1962 when Del Shofner earned 269 yards vs. Washington.

Without anything to complain about detractors quickly pointed out the promised penalty against the wide out for taking off his helmet before reaching the sideline.

NBA Jersey ads creating Jersey Real Estate

NBA Jersey Ads

The NBA is finding new ways to make more money every day.  The most recent is jersey advertisements allowed by the league on a trial bases.  Two teams the Philadelphia 76ers and the Sacramento Kings have both inked deals worth $15 million to try the new venture.

Expect ads on the jersey of your favorite player in the upcoming season.   Blue Diamond Growers have contracted with the Kings.  Companies internationally are chomping at the bits to get a shot at the small patch.   The 76ers are contracted with StubHub as the first two teams to make the leap.

Part of the slowdown in getting the patches on every uniform is the lack of backstory.  There is no understanding of what the value of such advertising should be worth.  A few deciding factors being kicked around is team popularity and success, market size and marquee-player value.

The winless Cleveland Browns found themselves in the crosshairs of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady on his first day back from suspension over the football deflation controversy.   Brady seemed to have absolute focus in a 33-13 romp of the Browns.

The first possession ended in a score.   The clinic continued as the New England team displayed dominance with the qb walking away with more than 400 yards in the air and three touchdowns.

The Patriots didn’t do poorly in his absence, logging a 3-1 record in the four games only dropping the ball to a hardcore Buffalo team in Week 4.   Brady’s vengeance continues week 6 against the 2-3 Cincinnati Bengal’s and scheduled to be aired on CBS for Television.

A North Carolina radio station has decided not to air a college football game following a number of band members who decided to kneel through the national anthem at last week’s game.

Knelling through the Anthem was a protest brain child of professional football Quarterback Colin Kaepernick.   The controversial protestor said, "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."  The Fayetteville, North Carolina station, WFAY-AM’s CEO Jeff Andrulonis and his wonderful wife and business partner says, and

In a physical contest the New York Giants took on the Minnesota Vikings in a 24 to 10 game with the Giants losing its second consecutive.  Star receiver, Odell Beckham, JR. was held to a career low in production with a lot of contact to and from corner Xavier Rhodes and was called for unsportsmanlike conduct in the second quarter.  The Giants Wideout had only three receptions for 23 yards.

In the off-season, the defense went through a number of major changes, fans are believing with a little time the investment will pay off with numbers in the W column.   The Vikings improve to 4-0 and maintain a perfect season.

In a post-game interview, Xavier Rhodes said, “It felt good.”

Big Blue slides to 4th in the NFC East, with a season record of 2-2.   The New York team faces the Baltimore Ravens, 3-1 on Sunday 16 October.
