This week is a tough week in East Rutherford, N. J.  as the New York Giants are tasked with cutting down from 90 men to 53 as mandated by the NFL.   The cutdown has to be complete by next Saturday, but the team has to face the New England Patriots on Thursday in its final preseason contest.

After the cutdown the team is gearing up to face the Dallas Cowboys on 10 September in the season opener.  Last season’s defensive investment seems to be paying off, the starting Defense didn’t allow for a single touchdown during the first three preseason games.  The jets were able to muster a field goal marking the first score versus the starting D.

The verdict is in and everyone loves the underdog.  MMA meets Boxing in the biggest combat battle of the year, Floyd Mayweather vs. Connor McGregor the UFC star in a boxing match in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

On the penultimate day of the fight both camps say Mayweather has been resting and not pushing his body as per his usual for a big fight.  The experts say McGregor has a chance but only if he makes it a brawl.  If he attempts to box with one of the greatest boxers of all time he has no chance.  According to vendors in Vegas McGregor gear is moving off the shelves at a faster clip than anything else.

The book makers favor Mayweather and sure they would in a boxing match.

Last year Colin Kaepernick sat at the eye of a PR storm after media operatives directed ire to him after he began sitting or kneeling during the national anthem in protest against unjust treatment against African Americans.  Namely, the shooting and killing of unarmed African American men by policemen.

The quarterback remains a “Free Agent” despite having a marketable QB rating just weeks from the beginning of the season.

Other players have joined the battle with Kaepernicks original idea, but because he was the first he was singled out as a bag guy and are suffering repercussions.   On Wednesday hundreds of protesters have rallied to support Kaepernick understanding that he is being blackballed despite his talent and skills.

Colin Kaepernick may have paid the ultimate price for standing for something, he kicked off a chain of events that is united some teams in the NFL while some white fans would prefer they shut up and just entertain.   The embattled professional quarterback said that until African Americans are treated justly and are not shot down in the streets by police officers who are sworn to protect them he will sit for the national anthem.

Since then more unarmed African American’s have died and most recently, Heather Heyer, a white anti-racist protester in Charlottesville, Virginia, by a neo-Nazi after charging through the crowd with his car.

Cleveland Brown’s Offensive lineman Marcus Martin stood and supported his teammates as they kneeled and prayed during the national anthem against the New York Knicks.

Amid protests started by Colin Kaepernick and still carried on by Marshawn Lynch and Michael Bennett, commissioner Roger Goodell said, "It's one of those things where we have to understand that there are people who have different viewpoints," Goodell said, via ESPN.com. "It's something that I think everybody wants. The national anthem is a special moment for me. It's a point of pride. That is a really important moment but we also have to understand the other side, that people do have rights and we want to respect those."

Protest on your own time!

The American media is pushing the idea, that if Michael Bennet wants to protest racial bigotry and injustice he should do it on his own time.

More than one study has shown that whites in America do not believe there is a racial problem.  They are convinced this represents just a handful of Blacks who want things to go their way and can’t get it.  It has been said that Colin Kaepernick kicked off a protest that has caused him to be a pariah and unemployable.
