Marshawn Lynch in Foxborough?

Marshawn Lynch

Marshawn Lynch may have been coaxed out of retirement by the Raiders, but now he is fully at play and is being shopped around, to other teams including the New England Patriots.   According to recent reports it’s official.  Lynch’s retirement isn’t a Raiders only proposition.

It seems Oakland would choose 31 teams that they would prefer for Lynch to land rather than Patriots.   I’m sure Lynch isn’t coming out of retirement for financial reasons, but the Hall would be much larger and easier to find with a second Super Bowl ring, and going to Foxborough would give him a strong chance to warm another ring finger.

For 9 years’ competitors in the NBA has been plagued by the presence of Russell Westbrook’s quickness on offense and competitive drive on the opposite end of the floor.  His most recent accomplishment is overtaking Oscar Robertson’s record for having the most triple doubles—ever.

He has consistently become better offensively and defensively show no signs of slowing down.  His real potential began to surface after Kevin Durant who shared the floor with Westbrook for years decided to take his talent to the Golden State Warriors.

The Oklahoma City Thunder superstar locked the record just days shy of the end of the season.  He not only did he put to rest a 55-year-old record but also scored 50 points in Sunday’s game against Denver giving him three 50 point triple doubles on the season.  A feat that no one else can claim

Georgetown University’s Head Basketball Coach’s position has been filled with Alum and NBA Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing.  The former Knickerbocker is replacing John Thompson III, who failed to reach the legendary status of his father.

Ewing and Thompson Jr.  as coach and player won the Championship in 1984.  Ewing then went on to play professionally with the Knicks 15 years after being a first round draft pick and played briefly with the Seattle SuperSonics and the Orlando Magic, both teams recording single seasons with the 7-foot center.

Ewing’s number 33 jersey was retired by the Knicks in 2003.   The big man recorded 24,815 points per game during his professional career, he was an 11 time NBA All Star and celebrated Rookie of the year honors in 1986.

Peterson Still Unsigned

Adrian Peterson

In a strange twist of gridiron fate nearly a month into free agency veteran Adrian Peterson is without a contract.  He just left Foxboro visiting with the Patriots—and Still no contract.  While negotiations are likely continuing the famed back has not yet found a team.

There is still hope, but at the top of the month Peterson said that he and his team would be taking their time to find the right fit.    And I’m sure the fat price tag is another reason for the slow walking from both his camp and teams.

The 32-year-old running back is recovering from a torn meniscus in his knee, which has pulled back on the reins from his game breaking days but AP is still an offensive threat via the difficulty of bringing him to the ground.

Derek Fisher says Matt Barnes Scuffle could have changed His Relationship with Knicks

Derek Fisher

Former Knicks head coach Derek Fisher in a recent podcast admitted the Matt Barnes fight effected his relationship with the Knickerbockers organization.

Before his release he insisted that he was not responsible for what happened that caused him to miss a preseason practice.   He has now had a change of heart and taking responsibility saying hindsight is 20/20 and he understands the incident may have colored the way Phil Jackson president of the Knicks and the organization viewed him.

The good thing for Fisher is after he was fired from the organization the team continued to lose and points to the aged triangle offense as the only part of the team that hasn’t changed.  The former Laker guard is hoping to get the attention of team decision makers to offer him another stab at the top coaching job.

A dog meat processing plant in Goyang, South Korea has been shut down with the help of the Human Society International(HIS). Fifty-five dogs, have now been rescued from their cages some of them puppies have been transported to the United States.

Apparently, the owner of the farm had a change of heart and decided to end his contribution in the dog meat trade business.  The owner’s decision led in the intervention and after an agreement between he and the HIS the operation was successfully shut down.   HSI described the conditions of the dogs as haphazardous, described small cages and filthy conditions.  The rescue team said the facility was unlike anything they had seen before and said some of the animals didn’t have daylight or fresh air daily.

Closing down this processing plant was part of HIS’s fight to end the dog meat trade in Asia.
