Former music mogul and reputed hip hop henchman is striking out against his former partner for 30 percent of his earnings in perpetuity.

Suge Knight wants nearly one third of Dr. Dre’s future earnings as well as 30 percent of the earnings Dre enjoyed when he sold Beats to Apple which would amount to $300 million.  The complaint is part of a lawsuit that not only says Knight and Dre agreed to a management agreement that entitled him to 30 percent he is also accusing the hip-hop legend of trying to kill him.

So much for anti-trust.  This weekend AT&T made a proposal to stroke out a big check for the purchase of Time Warner, Inc.  If there is such a thing a perfect timing to launch a takeover this has to be that time at the dawn of a presidential election.  Anti-trust laws were enacted to prevent single companies from controlling communication, and directing public thought on a mass scale.

Eminem New Music: Most Creative in Years

Eminem

The real Slim Shady just stood up with Campaign Speech.  If this is a taste of what the new album is like it’s going to be fire.  The young MC still has a lot to say, through the vicissitudes of life he has survived and is now ready the remind the world of his metaphorical gift.

The single is a “Hot Buttered Soulish – 7:47, and scratches itches like George Zimmerman, Dillon Roof, Stacy Dash and a clear political caveat.  The new music is Eminem’s first since 2013.

The Accountant pulled the number one sport this weekend at the box officer with North American sales are expected to be nearly $25 million, after critics slammed the movie it was only shown in 3332 theaters.

TV Network BET is facing a lawsuit filed by Gabrielle Union on Tuesday over her Being Mary Jane contract.  The actress says the network attempted to stiff her on a portion of her pay by combining seasons four and five according to reports.

The critically acclaimed series started back in 2013, it’s a story line that follows a TV new anchor.  Union’s lawsuit says the network agreed to never produce more than 13 episodes per season.  She was assured for season 4 a salary of $150,000 per episode and for season 5 $165,000 per show.

The network tried to produce two 10-episode seasons to be aired all in season 4 and that attempt has the actress crying foul.   She is suing BET and Breakdown Productions for negligent misrepresentation and breach of contract.
