Kevin Clash Resigns From Sesame Street

While Hasbro undoubtedly isn't tickled by the controversy surrounding Kevin Clash—the puppeteer behind the squeaky-voiced furry guy who abruptly resigned from Sesame Workshop after being accused of an inappropriate relationship with a minor—the company subsequently issued a statement saying it had no plans to discontinue its line of Elmo toys.

Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash resigns from Sesame Street following second sex accusation.

"Sesame Street and its wonderful characters have been entertaining and educating children and families for more than 40 years," a Hasbro spokeswoman told E! News. "We are confident that Elmo will remain an integral part of Sesame Street and that Sesame Street toys will continue to delight children for years to come."

That means Elmo fans can rest easy. The beloved Muppet monster with the big orange nose will remain on store shelves in a variety of fun-filled forms for preschoolers this holiday shopping season.

Legends Honored Lear and Alda Received International Emmys

The International Emmy Awards recognized the works of Norman Lear and Alan Alda at its 40th annual ceremony. The gala, which took place Monday, November 19 at the Hilton New York Hotel, honored the television legends with Special Founders Awards.

Toward the end of the show, Ryan Murphy took the stage to present the awards to "All in the Family" creator Lear and "M*A*S*H" actor Alda. He called them "two of my idols, guys who really did change the face of television and thus the world."

Murphy himself was handed with International Founders Award earlier that night. He received the award from Jessica Lange, who stars on his hit TV series "American Horror Story".

The event also honored the excellence in television production outside the U.S., with the winners spanning six countries this year. The United Kingdom bagged two, for best TV movie or miniseries "Black Mirror" and best documentary "Terry Pratchett: Choosing to Die."

American Music Awards 2012: Bieber Night

The American Music Awards know their place in the landscape of music-related award shows.

The ceremony doesn't have the prestige of the Grammys or the cheeky irreverence of MTV's Video Music Awards — and certainly not the ratings of either.

But where the show, which aired Sunday evening on ABC, excels is its ability to provide pop spectacle.

Splashy commercials leading into the program featured a simple tagline: "Your playlist goes live." And this is one award show where radio hits — not the trophies — seem to matter most.

"This is for all the haters who thought I'd be here for only one or two years," Justin Bieber declared as he clutched his win for favorite pop/rock male artist. "But I think I'm gonna be for a long time."

Before Bieber became one of the biggest stars on the planet, it was thought his success would wane when puberty hit.

Latin Grammy Awards, Hot, Hot, Hot

The 13th annual Latin Grammy Awards on Thursday night anointed a new favorite for the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences: Jesse & Joy, a duo of Mexican siblings whose heartbroken ballad “¡Corre!” (“Run!”) was named song of the year (an award for the songwriters) and record of the year (for the recorded single), stealing the spotlight from regular Latin Grammy winners.

In the awards show, broadcast from Las Vegas on Univision, Jesse & Joy’s third album of pop-rock, “¿Con Quién Se Queda El Perro?” was named best contemporary pop album, while another single by the duo, “Me Voy,” received the best music video award. Jesse & Joy, whose last name is Huerta, won the Latin Grammy for best new artist in 2007; this year, they started running out of people to thank.

Matt Lauer is Damaged Goods

According to the Daily News, Matt Lauer is so yesterday.

TV industry insiders say no amount of NBC executive reshuffling can save the embattled “Today” show — until its longtime co-host throws in the towel.

Lauer has been blamed for the show’s ratings woes, which intensified in June when co-host Ann Curry was suddenly ditched and replaced by Savannah Guthrie.

“This problem is not going to go away until Matt Lauer does,” a prominent former NBC News exec told the Daily News on Tuesday. “He’s great, but fairly or unfairly, his brand is damaged.”

The sentiment comes just as a new production team is poised to take over “Today,” which has fallen into second place this year behind archrival “Good Morning America” in the cutthroat ratings race.

Rihanna: Lights up SNL

Saturday night Rihanna was the musical guest on variety series mainstay Saturday Night Live as Anne Hathaway was the host. This isn't the first time Riri has performed on the show, as she has done so most recently back in the spring of this year. This was different for the usual musical guest at SNL in that they used a green screen in the background for her first performance. That was of course her massive hit 'Diamonds' which currently sits in the top five on the Billboard 100. Everything from the outfit she was wearing to the actual visions of what was shown on the green screen seemed very psychedelic and different from what we are used to her. This of course counteracting with what she put out with the actual video for the song which was much more cinematographic. The second performance was her brand new song called 'Stay' off of her upcoming album 'Unapologetic'.

Miranda Lambert New Face of Milk

A milk mustache.

She's the face of latest National Milk Mustache "got milk?" campaign, called The Breakfast Project.

The ad shows Lambert kicked back on her and husband Blake Shelton's Oklahoma farm with the trademark mustache and the words "Fine tune your morning. Got milk? Nourish every day."

Also Lambert and Shelton told People magazine that they'll celebrate their multiple Country Music Association wins with some quiet time on their ranch. "We're going home for Thanksgiving," she told People.

"We'll have four days there, and again for Christmas. We never see each other, so we cherish every moment together."
