Missy Elliot, gave a soul stirring speech on Thursday in NYC. She opened up about having an autoimmune disease, she said that it had gotten so bad that she could not even lift a pen.

The admission came at the 9th annual Essence magazin’s Black Women in Music event. This year it was held at New York City’s Highline Ballroom. She was introduced by her old friend Janet Jackson who she had special words for towards the end of the talk. Jakson introduced the musical mogul by saying, "Creativity is a beautiful thing," she continued, "And when creativity flows so freely from a musical genius, all we can do is express gratitude. I am so grateful for Missy's beautiful soul."

Elliot joking admitted Jackson calls her Jack.

NERD to perform at Super Bowl LII

Whats the difference between a geek and a nerd? N.E.R.D. is a rock band playing an the 52 Super bowl halftime show. And acronym f No one ever dies is a hip hop and rock fusion band formed in Virginia Beach, VA in 1999. Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo were signed by Teddy Riley to Virgin Records as a duo, called the Neptunes. The Neptunes, a production powerhouse formed a band with Shay Haley as a side project and billed it N.E.R.D.

The band is performing at the NFL’s big game halftime show promoting their latest album released in late 2017 Lemon. The lead single features Rihanna and the album features acts including, MIA, Andre 3000, Kendrick Lamar, Wale, Future, Gucci Maine and Ed Sheeran.

Super Bowl LII is schedule to be in Minneapolis,MN in the state of the art US Bank Stadium on 4 February, 2018

Justin Timberlake is back for the Super bowl halftime show after a 14 year absence. In 2004, he performed with Janet Jackson and snatched her clothing exposing her nipple. The incident caused an international storm of criticism accusing primarily Jackson of defiling a family event.

He said he and his people talked about what was then called a wardrobe malfunction. He said during a recent interview, "To be honest, it wasn't too much of a conversation, just one of those things where you go, we're not going to do that again." he continued, 'OK, well, you know, you can't change what's happened but you can move forward and learn from it.'"

Timberlake is promoting a new album, “Man of the Woods.”

Sexual Abuse allegations continue Upward against Hip Hop Pioneer

Russel Simmons accusers has grown to 14, including 7 rapes being investigated by the New York Police Department. Rape allegations against the hip hop mogul began in late 2017, and the world armed up against powerful men taking advantage of their positions.

In Late December two women filed police complaints that happened in 1983 and 1991, and in New York state there is no statue of limitations on Rape.

On accuser Sherri Hines alleged Simmons invited her into his new sparsely furnished office asked her to have a seat on the couch and raped her while her friend waited in the lobby. When allegations began Simmons pushed back by creating a media campaign of his own called #NotMe in an effort to refute sexual abuse allegations against him. He has since ended the campaign as the numbers of women continue to ascend.

Hollywood Women Launch Parity Campaign

The power of Times Up. More than 300 actresses and others formed an anti-sexual misconduct pact, with a legal defense fund designed to protect women in any industry including janitors, nurses and others. Organizers include, Hollywood heavyweights including, Reese Witherspoon, Kerry Washington and Eva Longoria.

In an open letter the group said, "We want all survivors of sexual harassment, everywhere, to be heard, to be believed, and to know that accountability is possible." Organizers are looking to drive gender equality in Hollywood and propose new laws and penalties for companies who allow harassment to persist.

The group intends to use their star power to bring awareness and solutions to a systemic problem. This on the heels of the Harvey Weinstein Me Too campaign.

Pop Singer Rihanna is mourning the loss of her 21 year old cousin in her homeland of the Caribbean island of Barbados.  

Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne, was shot and killed just hours after attending a party hosted by his older cousin.   He was walking near his home on Tuesday night when he was approached by a man who shot home several times before running off.  He was rushed to a local hospital in a personal vehicle, but died shortly after he arrived.  

The Barbados police are asking for help to solve the senseless shooting.  

The singer said via social media of the incident,”Never thought that would be the last time I felt the warmth in your body!!! Love you always man!” She continued, “RIP cousin... can't believe it was just last night that I held you in my arms!”

Hollywood is speaking out against sexual abuse in their industry by wearing black. Hollywood women agreed previously to wear the rich color and Wednesday Hollywood men decided to join the protest.

The event will be the 2018 golden Globe awards and Black represents the solidarity against sexual harassment and assault in the entertainment sphere. A-listers Dwayne Johnson, Tom Hiddleston, Garrett Hedlund among others have decided to join the protest.

The Golden Globe Awards will be 7 January 2018.

Pop-artist Lorde has cancelled her summer Tel Aviv show date amid political protests in Jerusalem. Anti-Israel activists urge artist to boycott the country. Protest organization BDS or boycott, divestment and sanctions organization pushed the artist to reconsider.
