Houston Man Confesses to Murder

 

A Houston man; Mark Castellano, who is accused of killing girlfriend Michelle Warner confessed to killing her and dumping her body in a west Texas oil field.   Only after misleading police and a deceptive interview for the Dr. Phil show.

Castellano-37 has been charged with murdering Warner,  according to Detective Fil Waters of the Houston Police Department.  Castellano admitted he killed Warner after an argument in their apartment on 22 September 2012; he grabbed her by the throat and apparently snapped her neck.

Greater Houston Partnership announces support of HCC bond proposal

HOUSTON [October 1, 2012] – The Greater Houston Partnership’s Board of Directors approved a resolution Thursday, Sept. 20 supporting the bond package proposed by Houston Community College. Houston voters will have their say on the proposal in November.

“The vote is the culmination of thorough reviews and thoughtful discussions by our Board and Executive Committee,” said GHP Board Chairman Tony Chase. “We carefully reviewed the HCC bond proposal, including how the money would be spent. Then, we weighed the total impact on the region. If the voters approve HCC’s bond request, they will allow Houston to advance in key areas, including education and quality of life.”

Among the plans included in HCC’s bond package are upgrades to campus technologies and addressing capacity and space needs throughout the college’s campuses.

Investigators said around 9 a.m. Sunday, a woman driving a Cadillac along Bellaire near Wilcrest lost control and hit a curb.

SW Houston Car Crashes into Police Cruiser; 1 Dead

HOUSTON -
An accident involving a Houston police officer in the southwest part of the city left one person dead and another facing serious charges.
Police said around 2 a.m. Sunday, Tocarra Dubor, 29, and Aresha Griffin were driving down Richmond Avenue near Jeanetta when their car slammed into the back driver-side corner of a Houston police car.
Investigators said the accident sent Dubor's car veering off the road into a nearby parking lot.
Police said Griffin was hanging out of the car at the time of the accident and was slammed into a tree when when the crash occurred.
Griffin was killed.
Dubor has since been charged with intoxication manslaughter in the accident.
The officer was not hurt.

9 years ago Tom O’ Reilly and Tom Kelley left a previous business and opened The Bull and Bear Tavern and Eatery, an Irish-English pub with a lot of Irish  beloveds.

“Hopefully they can experience an Irish-English pub. A lot of home grown stuff; you know like the liver & onions, fish & chips, cottage pies. A lot of the condiments that you’ll get back home.  So a little bit of an Irish-English flavor.” Said co-owner Tom O’Reilly

A Posthumous Tribute to a Man About Bass: Derrick Lewis

Houston Jazz bassist Derrick Lewis, who played in local restaurants and bars for around 40 years as well as internationally throughout Europe, passed this August during a tragic bicycle accident.

 Lewis was well known throughout the Jazz community here in Houston.

“He played all the top bass Jazz.” said good friend David Cutaia “When you needed a jazz bass player in Houston he was one of the first ones to be called.”

Although he was born in Washington, D.C., Lewis’ father was in the United States Air Force which enabled his family to travel around the world.
