Springfield, MASS --  The 1st Congressional District race feature Richard Neal and Tahirah Amatul Wadud locking horns to be the Democrat to represent Massachusetts 1st District.

On Thursday, they will have their final debate and will be available online.   The district includes all of Hampden, Hampshire, Worcester, Berkshire County and Franklin.   The primaries are scheduled for 4 September.   Both candidates agree something must be done about the opioid crisis.  However, Amatul-Wadud would like to delve deeper addressing disparities of those from different racial and economic backgrounds deal with treatment.  She said in a previous debate, "Until we acknowledge that deep disparity in how addiction is treated, we will not be able to solve the opioid crisis, I promise you that much.”

Neal this it is a mental health issue and should be dealt with as such. 

The talk is scheduled to be televised and will begin in the primetime hours.
