Aretha Franklin moves north on the Billboard artist 100 Chart to claim the number two position posthumously.  The Queen of Soul moved up from the 4th slot after her death in Detroit on 16 August in her home in Detroit.   The number 2 position is her highest in in 50 years as her 30 greatest hits albums move up.

Ariana Grande had a nice week moving from number 16 to Billboards top spot, repeating the effort from August 2014 and then again in September 2014.  Others hovering at the top include Drake at No.3, Post Malone and Travis Scott.

The Artist 100 measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track and radio play, streaming and social media fan interaction as a measure of popularity.
