He was an officer and a gentleman – a senator and a Prisoner of war, Senator John McCain is no more.   The former naval bomber pilot and twice defeated conservative presidential candidate is dead at 81 after a battle terse battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer.

He spent the past few months in solace with his closest family and friends treating and surviving to prepare for transition.  The Arizona man published a book in May, in it he said that he hated to leave the world.   A quip from his memoirs, he said, "It's been quite a ride. I've known great passions, seen amazing wonders, fought in a war, and helped make peace."

The last time that he was in the capitol was late last year, he punched back in the sitting president in social media statements giving fight on his last leg.  He never agreed with Trump philosophy, and never held his tongue about it.   He made clear to bar the president from his funeral services.  Others have paid homage to the honorable soldier including Former president Barack Obama and George W. Bush and have both been asked to give eulogies.

The loss will leave a void on the hill for the coming months and years until lawmakers’ man up and stand strong.
