Tuesday in DC a National Security Council contractor wanted in Maryland for attempted first degree murder has been arrested after the US Secret Service learned of a warrant.
Martese Maurice Edwards was apprehended when he arrived at work at the White House on Tuesday morning one day after Secret Service says it was notified through the Criminal Justice Information System about a warrant for Edwards arrest.
Officers and security workers are asked to self report any current or pending arrest warrants. The second line of defense is the national instant criminal background check system. Edwards is listed as an executive assistant and office manager and the Department of Devense and as a police officer for Defense Intelligence Agency previously.
His current position is unknown.
