Hamden police arrested a man on Monday after he fell asleep at a stop sign in the early morning hours of 4 June at the intersection of Pone Rock avenue and Woodin Street after a resident notice him sitting for nearly a half hour.

When police arrived they noticed a black handgun in the mans lap, he was then awaken and put in handcuffs while authorities searched the car to find 14 bags of crack coacain a .40 caliber handgun and $875.

Michael Jones of New Haven was arrested on charges of weapons in a motor vehicle, criminal possession of a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia and is being held on a $10,000 bond. The 36 year old man is expected to be in court on 15 June.
