The United States continue to fall further behind in computer speed and technology. New reports from China announced the National Supercomputing Center in Shenzhen plans to build a next generation supercomputer that will be 10 times faster than the world’s current speed deamon which is also a China built system and so is the third fastest.

Chinese newspapers report the center will invest nearly $500 million on the development of this supercomputer expected to be capable of making a quintillion calculations per second.

Currently the fastest computer is the Sunway TaihuLight and the Tianhe-2 is the current fastest processing machine. The US based Titan is ranking in fifth place

Hardware manufacturing has proven to be in the heart of the wheelhouse of the Chinese capabilities and are centering their focus of tailor made software for supercomputers to more effectively use the systems capabilities.

While the US is divided along racial lines and are distracted with civil fighting the Chinese continues to prove dominance and the gap between the rich and poor in the US continues to mirror that of the UK 40 years ago.
