“I love you Porgy, don’t let them take me…”

Ms Simone was quoted to say, “I was lucky in marriage, not lucky in love.”

She marched with Dr. Martin L. King Jr., she participated in the March on Washington.  She was born in North Carolina, and proved to be a prodigious talent, she began playing the piano at the age of 3 years.  She graduated valedictorian of her high school and later she graduated from the prestigious Julliard in New York City.
