Persecuted rapper Meek Mill was released just in time to ring the Philadelphia 76er’s traditional pre-game bell for the 2018 playoffs first round Game 5. Protests have brought attention tot he entertainers plight and even more attention has been brought to light after a killer of more than 14 people was issued a bail and Mill had not.

76er’s co-owner Michael Rubin make the announcement on social media and arrived wearing a Joel Embiid jersey as he hung out with Kevin Hart.

In December during a Jay-Z concert both Joel Embiid and Ben Simmins sported tees with “Stand with Meek Mill” while the Eagles ascended to the top of the NFL. Mills boast Philadelphia has his hometown and has been bashed by the legacy media including ESPN personalities.
