Russian president Vladimir Putin talked to international changes to the countries nuclear policies and arsenal. In his annual state of the nation speech last month he made clear that an attack on Russia or any of its allies would elicit an immediate response from Moscow.

Putin, ran video footage of the new weapons projected over his shoulder during the speech.

Russia and the US are at odds most notably in Syria, where the US is against President Bashar al-Assad, while Russian is for. Crimea is supported in their efforts to be free from the Ukraine. The US supports Ukrain and have placed sanctions against Crimean rebels.

The former intelligence agent turned state leader said, "They have not succeeded in holding Russia back," Putin said, referring to the West. "Now they need to take account of a new reality and understand that everything I have said today is not a bluff."

Russian’s national election was held on 18 March, 2018 in which Mr. Putin won another term in the high office.
