POWER TO THE PEOPLE! “I am a revolutionary. I am a revolutionary! I am a revolutionary!

The advent of the Black Panther Political Party (BPP) (a socialist organization) by Bobby Seale and Huey Newton occurred in October 1966; its platform included: challenging police brutality against blacks and instituted community social service programs such as: voter registration, free breakfast for children, self-defense and community health clinics.

In a parallel ideology, Martin Luther King, Jr (MLK) (born January 15, 1929 and assassinated on April 4, 1968, by James Earl Ray) successfully united and led the struggle and movement against segregation by means of nonviolence and civil disobedience (1957-1968); MLK was inspired by both his Christian faith and nonviolent activist Mahatma Gandhi; MLK was one of the founders of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) in 1957 and served as its first president. MLK achieved martyrdom by a gunshot to his head. MLK was clearly on the radar of J. Edgar Hoover (JEH), Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI); it was common knowledge that MLK was a person of interest to JEH; in fact, JEH had amassed a considerable file on MLK; JEH was determined to undermine and eradicate this peaceful movement, by any means necessary. JEH had no idea of what would follow; however, the Seeds and Sparks of DISCONTENT and FREEDOM and REVOLUTION were planted deeply into the hearts and minds of blacks, sympathizers and minorities who joined the movement for equality.

At its genesis, in 1966, the BPP members joined armed citizens’ patrols to monitor the behavior of police officers of the Oakland Police Department and challenge police brutality. I am a revolutionary. I am a revolutionary! I am a revolutionary!” These words uttered in Chicago (and later echoed elsewhere by others), were initially shouted by courageous, activist and revolutionary Fred Hampton, deputy chairman of the Illinois Chapter of the Black Panther Party (BPP). Both he and Mark Clark, BPP (fellow activist), were killed during a raid by the combined efforts of a tactical unit of Cook County, Illinois State’s Attorney’s Office, the Chicago Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation on December 4, 1969. Upon investigation, in 1970, the murders of these activists were deemed justifiable homicide by all the entities that had joined forces for the raid and even the state’s coroner office reported that it concurred with the conclusion. A civil lawsuit was later filed on behalf of the relatives of Fred Hampton and Mark Clark; civil litigation ensued and in 1982 a settlement of $1.85 million against the City of Chicago, Cook County and the federal government: each paying a third to a group of nine plaintiffs.

I am a revolutionary! I am a revolutionary! I am a revolutionary! And the crowds roared

and answered as a chorus by the third shout! In those days, late 1960s and early 1970s, affirming this new political position, deemed radical and violent against whites, by FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, Jr., resulted in potential death by gunshot. The crowds attending these meetings and events included college students (with a variety of ethnicity), community youths and persons of all religions and color. The BPP initiated Free Breakfast for Children Programs, and community health clinics. BPP’s ideology included: Black Nationalism, Maoism, Anti-fascism, Anti-imperialism, Marxism and Leninism, Revolutionary Socialism and Anti-Racism. Their flag was black, light blue and green.

BPP filled community needs where none were provided or provided inadequately by either the state or local community.

The BPP in its mission statement declared: to protect blacks from unlawful arrest and brutal physical attacks, including murder, by police officers, who target [ed] blacks and other minorities. Targeting became the rule of the day simply because they could do so with the tacit approval of local enforcement and, of course, King “Bonespur” Trump and his cronies.

The Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement is the progeny of both BPP and MLK.

With King “Bonespur” Trump in power and a Republican Senate and House, we must join together, unite as never before; to keep Trump and his cronies in check and demonstrate whenever and wherever we see or read about discriminatory behavior. This behavior is unacceptable, on any level of government in the United States.

Persons of color are fellow architects of the United States: this is an undeniable fact (Peoples White House built by slaves). Humans are a species; a species of one human kind; add an “e” to human and the word is “humane”.

America’s most vulnerable folks have: inadequate shelters in which to live (days or periods of no heat); days designated for fasting (since food ran out); drinking water that is often polluted; denied adequate shoes and clothing for the climate and conditions of the area in which they live; deficient and disrupted access to the power grid (electricity, generator, oil, coal or even firewood); and insufficient access to medical care. This list is clearly NOT exhaustive and is intended as a source of reference. Access to Healthcare is a fundamental right for all Americans. Having these aforementioned needs met are part of our core values. Basic human decency, as we strive to be compassionate, requires us (all of us: Americans) to meet the needs of those who cannot help themselves.

A sidebar:

1. King “Bonespur” Trump (for draft dodging 5 times for bonespur complaint: but capably played baseball, tennis and golfed; he wants America WHITE again and has made no bones about it. We, the folks with knowledge of reality, the brave thinkers, know we can defeat President Trump’s agendas and succeed. Let’s see what’s in store for us today: MORE FAKE news. HA! HA! HEE! HEE!

2. King “Bonespur” Trump has played us: called Senators and Congresspersons treasonous, because they did not applaud him after his State of the Union Address; called football players un-American because they bent a knee for the National Anthem. In the 1960s, a fist pump, during the Olympics (while on the podium) was deemed controversial; the upraised fist symbolized the posture of the BPP. Republicans and their cronies were frightened that their world of “1%” American of the population would withdraw their financial tribute to Trump, and their Republican party, thereby losing forever.

3. You read The Thinkering News, so you are imbued with truth as your sword and kindness in your heart; you are a THINKER and THINKERS’ KNOW that with purity of heart, you can channel the force when we are called to action. If King Trump makes speeches, tweets, sends or voices a message (moves his fingers and lips) or postures about a position regarding a compelling issue THINKERS KNOW: What the king sayeth, is not what he doeth. King Trump changes his opinions and waivers when asked to confirm and then, on recap, performs a 180 and denies what he said, because he does not remember saying “those words” nor “taking that stance”, despite video and audio concurrence. In this Peoples’ White House, you can engage in spousal abuse and harassment, with multiple spouses and on many occasions; King Trump was accused by Ivana of aggressively pulling out a fistful of hair and raping her; we’ve seen the Hollywood Access film of our king commenting that he could grab girls and women by their groin, even walk on Fifth Avenue (with a loaded gun) with impunity, because he is rich. REALLY? In his mind, you can rape 14 year old girls and be endorsed for office by the king. You can be a five (5) time draft dodger (just like King Bonespur Trump); and order a parade in your honor (cost to us, the American taxpayers, upwards of $100 million dollars--guestimate).

4. Next article shall be on the mass shootings, and rate of murders, in America, unless another compelling issue arises. I intend to assuage fears that the second amendment will be repealed. Also, keep in mind, Trump’s sexual harassment of many females and assaults on his first wife has no expiration date.
