On Wednesday morning one man was killed when an Amtrak train carrying Republican lawmakers to a once a year event in West Virgina. The crash happened when the train collided with a truck -aboard were family members of both the House and Senate. Witnesses say the train must have been struck half way and one described the scene saying that it looked like a trash can was dummped out on the landscape.

There was a single death and one person was seriously injured.

The National Transportation Safety board said an investigation was underway and updates would be provided as information is gathered. One local man who lives the scene says the truck belongs to Time Disposal, which is in fact a Garbage company.

Local law enforcement are being joined by officials from Congress and the US Capitol Police to sort out the accident.
