Day three for the US government shutdown due to the failure to approve the annual budget with DACA and a border wall tempering the process. Trump is being accused of being duplicitous in his decision making on DACA and other issues where he seems to oscillate with words of support and aggressive action against.

Lawmakers accused Trump of being unwilling or unable to articulate the immigration policy he wanted, and voiced concern over whether he knew what he wanted. Senator Lindsey Graham, of South Carolina, said Trump was being manipulated by extremist in the White House. “As long as Stephen Miller is in charge of negotiating immigration, we are going nowhere. He’s been an outlier for years.” Minutes before he said, “His heart is right on this issue; I think he’s got a good understanding of what will sell, and every time we have a proposal, it is only yanked back by staff members.”

Miller, 32, has been described as a tart-tongued and unapologetic true believer in the presidents America first and supremacy ideology.

In response to Graham’s statement, a White house spokesman said of Graham, “As long as Senator Graham chooses to support legislation that sides with people in this country illegally and unlawfully instead of our own American citizens, we’re going nowhere,” he continued, a White House spokesman. “He’s been an outlier for years.”

Trump said via social media, that if the stalemate continues, they Option 51 should be evoked, which states, instead of a continued resolution short term fix. Major legislation advancement requires a three-fifths vote or 60 senators, the 51 is a simple majority vote – Republicans have 51 seats.

To further the double speak last month the sitting president had friendly words in his pitch calling it a “bill of love.” On Sunday he released a TV campaign showing and undocumented man who killed two police officers and saying democrats who refused to support a government funding measure without progress toward and immigration deal where “complicit in every murder committed by illegal immigrants.”
