Op/Ed

Now that you have had a nice reprieve for the holidays, lets get back to business. We as a nation have a collective problem and that problem is a lifelong businessman who is an established bonafide crook running his business interest out of the White House.

Since we are at the top of 2018, and this outlaw turned politician has purchased the Oval Office and has been given a license to sell off the country piece by piece we will begin with just a few of the lies this dude has told before and during his presidency.

We will start with the birther distraction. Trump claimed former president Barack Obama was not a United States Citizen and was not born in the US. He lied. He later said that Mr. Obama wiretapped his New York residence, after spending millions of tax payers dollars this too proved to also be a lie.

Maybe I’m jumping ahead of myself, the sitting president can easily be considered a felon malfactor, his deplorable behavior spans decades. Upon being announced the president elect he had to settle a class action suit involving Trump University, and according to the state of New York, should have never existed. The scheme involved promising unsuspecting individuals interested in making a living in real estate, untold wealth and financial comfort. They didn’t get that instead they got a seminars and promises that the next one will put you in the money. Americans invested millions to glean information from trump about owning property and the fleeced them. He settled for $25 million.

I’m writing this with the understanding the secret service could be at the door this afternoon. We have to push against corruption and wrongdoing, I won’t be deterred, and I won’t be tread on. This is what usually happens when a country is being run by a dictator, but we as Americans will not let an autocracy stand.

I won’t go back to when he worked in Real Estate management, and was sued by the federal government for discrimination. This series of suits began in 1973 in Brooklyn, when the junior Trump was being trained by his father Fred. A black woman attempted to rent a Brooklyn apartment managed by Donald Trump’s young company and was told nothing was available, a white women then rented after making the same request. The renters were undercover testers for a federal investigation. But, I won’t get into discrimination. We expect discrimination from a man who appointed Jeff Sessions the head of the DOJ, and personally endorsed by the notorious Klansman David Duke.

I Started this piece talking about lies, so I shall return to the subject at hand. He claimed to be on the cover of Time Magazine a record number of times he remembered 14 or 15 times. He was on the cover 11 times and in contrast Richard Nixon was on the cover 55 times. He told this lie shortly after the 2017, inauguration. A more recent lie was outed this week, Trump previously said that the Steel Industry would bounce back under his presidency, American Steel announced layoffs on Wednesday.

Trump said in late January, “So, look, when President Obama was there two weeks ago making a speech, very nice speech. Two people were shot and killed during his speech. You can't have that.” This was not true not a single person was shot in Chicago that day. The ArcelorMittal Mill announced last week 150 of their 207 employees will be lay off.

He said earlier this year, “Obamacare covers very few people — and remember, deduct from the number all of the people that had great health care that they loved that was taken away from them — it was taken away from them.” This was not true, more than 20 million people who did not have health insurance got it through Obama Care.

According to the New York Times the president lied nearly everyday of his tenure and the days that he didn't’t lie he didn't’t access social media. NYTimes -”On days without an untrue statement, he is often absent from Twitter, vacationing at Mar-a-Lago in Florida, or busy golfing.”

Notice I didn't’t touch the Russian investigation. That probe represents a hive of lies and inconsistencies.
