Does the United States Government represent its citizenry?

Elaine Duke the acting head of Homeland Security said, on Thursday, "I am very satisfied. I know it's a hard storm to recover from but the amount of progress that's been made, and I really would appreciate any support that we get. I know it is really a good news story in terms of our ability to reach people and the limited number of deaths that have taken place in such a devastating hurricane." This statement came on the heels of Puerto Rico, the U.S. state suffered for weeks without food, water and electricity. Braving flash floods and the notorious heat associated with post hurricane voids. I ask you does this sound like a person with empathy for the unrequited victims?

Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price spent just over $1 m on private jets, and promised to repay $52,000. Price’s promise to repay is a noble gesture however is a small fraction of what he spent, when he could have comfortably been aboard a commercial flight in first class for a fraction of the cost. I wonder if the local authorities would allow the 12-year-old who stole a snickers to simply repay the money? Probably not.

Steven Mnuchin secretary of Treasury, recently got married, one of his request was that he take a military jet for his honeymoon. After he and his new bride returned to the meager United States, he took a military aircraft to Kentucky, with his wife when she quipped on social media about the makers of her wardrobe and accessories. One frustrated American tax payer called her on her opulence while deplaning a military hop and she had a full meltdown. I have no words for this one. Yes, I do, who does she think she is to admonish an American citizen, whose money she is spending and bragging about it.

These three incidents were all this month. Washington D. C. is out of control.

There was once a time in this great country when people wanted to know that the things they did are right. However this group is being dragged along by a misogynist sycophant, whose single aim is the break apart and sell off piece by piece the United States of America and his not so fortunate supporters have yet to figure it out.

Mr. Trumps face who has found its way into every post office in the nation, has been an image of American business ugliness for a full two generations. He is a scoundrel born of a scoundrel pedigreed from the highest order. We won’t go all the way back there lets just begin in 1972, I was around six years old in Mississippi when Trump Management Inc. was accused of discriminating against minorities seeking housing at his company properties in both Brooklyn and Queens, New York.

In this place its not good enough to say, if it looks like a racist, if it sounds like a racist, must be a racist is not good enough. If the cookie thief is privileged, you have to catch his hand in the jar, wait for the cookie to come out, shoot video of the incident and pray for a sympathetic jury and fight the notion to have the trial transferred. And, you are likely to be required to provide some cookie DNA, to quash the insistence that it wasn’t a cookie in the first place.

Housing discrimination was Trump family tradition, stemming back to his father’s ideology. After years of fighting and citing it was more difficult for people of color to secure housing in 1968 the fair Housing Act was enacted. The practice continued despite being forced to rent to minorities by a federal judge.

The self proclaimed business guru was so good at business, he purchased the New Jersey Generals of the USFL, for $9 million and was able to lose $21 million by the following year. While the word anti trust doesn’ t mean much now, it did then. Trump sued the NFL for running a monopoly and won, however the judge ruled overspending was a contribution factor in the downfall of the USFL and awarded $3. The USFL closed its doors.

OK, I know what you're thinking and you are right, anyone can fail, heck, failing and recovery is part of being and entrepreneur a business right –sure, I agree.

Trump airlines is the next business we will discuss in the story of the ascension of Mr. Trump. Around 1988 he put together a string of small banks and conned them into a $380. m loan to purchase the embattled Eastern Airlines. It became Trump Shuttle, Inc., it never made profit and he again filed bankruptcy, despite the planes having gold trimming throughout it ceased operations in the second quarter of 1992.

Then there was the board game, Trump, 1989, and again in 2005. It failed, twice.

Taj Mahal Hotel and Casino, 1990, Trump was living the good life spending $1m weekly on personal items and expenses, he hired subcontractors to build the building in Atlantic City New Jersey, he shook them down for more than $60 m, he just would not pay the companies that he used to complete the work. The work was of good quality, but he could not justify paying them. Many of the construction firms went out of business and others struggled to overcome their losses on a job that they were excited about making money from the contract. Marty Rosenberg, a glass man who owned Atlantic Plate Glass said trump bilked him out of $1.5m for glass work on the hotel. He got together with other companies who were defrauded by trump, the group settled for $.20 on the dollar losing 80 percent on of their original agreement.

This dude is a hustler and not in a good way.

It was 1991, Trump Plaza, yet another discrimination suit, one brought by Trump Plaza employees both women and Blacks who claimed he would force them from the craps tables to allow WASP’s and gangsters on the tables. He was again fined, for violating anti-discrimination laws, but it didn't end there.

He had a lot going on in the early 90s, in 1991, 1992, 2004 and 2009, he filed for bankruptcy. No, he filed for bankruptcy four separate times, and could still walk into a bank and get a loan – even after not paying anyone anything, dang that white privilege is mighty nice.

In 1991, the Banks that had financed his real-estate scams gave him more money after he had lost the first round and could not pay. They offered and additional $65m in loans and credit. Less than one year later he was $4 billion in debt. This time he filed for his Taj Mahal casino.

Second time one year later, he was bent over backwards personally by $1 billion.

2004, all the Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts filed. Trump paid $65 million out of pocket. He had cash, because he never pays his debts.

Finally, in 2009, same company failed he renamed it and it failed again.

I'm up to my neck with business failures, so I’ll make this the last one, Trump University. Trump University was not a university and was sued by the state of New York for lying. He was accused of operating without a NYSED license and the New York AG called the school a “scam.”

Victims around the country chimed in and participated in suing Trump for running a bait and switch scheme. There were more than 5,000 victims in the state of New York alone. Victims would be lured in with a free seminar and pressured into increasingly expensive seminars the lowest level being a $1495. three day seminar up to the grand daddy of them all the $35,000 “Gold Elite” program.

The suit was settled in Mid November 2016, two weeks after the Russian influenced election pinnacled with Mr. Trump becoming the U.S. president elect. It was settled for $25 million.

I’m going to stop there, but I can talk about Vodka, Mortgage, Communications, Steaks, Multilevel marketing schemes, Magazines, and lot of other failures and hustles, but I think you get the point. I have to add, many poor to working class Americans believe Trump would help them financially somehow, but his record shows hes not about helping others. He once hired 200 illegal-immigrant Polish workers to demolish a building, he also used illegal Polish workers on the Taj Mahal, he refused to pay them forcing them to request a portion of the casino’s earnings, he paid them pennies on the dollar.

His wife Melania was imported by one of his companies along with more than 250 other fashion models. Since 2010, he has pursued more than 500 visas for workers at his Palm Beach Florida resort. He has tried to import 1,100 workers on temporary visas since 2000. He stepped over American workers to go through the process of getting overseas workers, whom he could easily have deported if they requested fair pay. And you think hes interested in helping you? I do now understand why Melania always appears so sad.

I won’t talk about the Chinese connection or Putin or the rapie campaign manager. I will say the indiscretions mentioned at the top of this page are reminiscent of everything Trump is all about.

I believe it was Margaret Mead who said, Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, concerned citizens can change world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has.

With that, I’ll leave you to it.
