Janet Jackson is claiming “verbal abuse” and feeling “like a prisoner in her own home,” as reasons her marriage of five years to Wissam Al Mana,42, came to an end.   The two are no carving out a divorce agreement and working on a custody agreement.

Steven Randall “Randy” Jackson,55, has spoken up in defense of his daughter.   He said during a recent interview, “There’s a lot of pain. Janet’s been through a lot with her divorce. I’ve been through a lot, we all have.”

Randy has been in court with the 51-year-old performer and said, “It came on later in the relationship, verbal abuse and being [made to feel like] a prisoner in her own home. No pregnant woman needs to go through being called a bitch everyday. There were things like that. That’s what she went through.” He continued, “It was quite an abusive situation.”

Mr Al Mana supplied a written response saying, “The breakdown of his marriage to Janet Jackson is a cause of great sadness to Mr. Al Mana, and it is the wellbeing and privacy of their son, Eissa, that remains his sole focus.”

Randy said, both his mother and sister visited London to check on the then pregnant Jackson, he said he initially shielded the rest of the family from what he knew.

Early reports suggested religious differences were at the heart of difficulties between the couple.  Most recent reports do not support those early allegations.  On Lookers point out that over the weekend the “control” singer become emotional during the song “What About,” Randy suggesting some of it has to do with her current custody battle and former abusive marriage.

Do you believe religion had anything to do with the breakup?
