Saturday Night Live is planning a special season opener with two show veterans.  Ryan Gosling and Jay-Z will host and provide the music for the night. 

Gosling promoting his sequel Blade Runner 2049 and Jay-z pushing 4:44 that been on the top 200 for six weeks, peaking at the number one position.   Gosling’s debut sequel on the show and this makes the rappers fourth visit to the show that made Eddie Murphy a household name. 

The Actor hosted in December 2015 to raving reviews and some of the funniest sketches, which tipped over his giggle box as well as the audiences’.   The season premier is scheduled to air on 30 September, and is expected to be a fun outing for the La La Land star marking his second visit to the Studio 8H stage. 

This is the 43 season of the weekend show that has a cult following.  A few previous host include, the very first host was the infamous, George Carlin, Candice Bergen was the first woman to host the show.  Actor Alec Baldwin holds a record 17 time at center stage.  Tina Fey, Bull Murray, Nick Nolte are all SNL alums. Eddie Murphy is the only person to host the show while still a cast member. 

The youngest person to host the show is Drew Barrymore, at age seven.  Betty White is the oldest at the age of 86.  Danny DeVito, Rhea Perlman, John Goodman, Christopher Walken, Melissa McCarthy Dwayne Johnson have all stood front a center on Saturday night.

The last five musical guest are The Chainsmokers on 8 April, Harry Styles on 15 April, LCD Soundsystem on 6 May, HAIM on 13 May, and Katy Perry on 20 May.
