Dropping Cell Phone Prices

The U.S. cellular market is reaching saturation and the price wars have begun among the big four companies.  The fast growing falls of the industries power to raise prices for profits as the population of cell phone users grew is changing as the number of users taper off.

Those users who have not called their mobile companies for a price reduction is missing the boat as companies are losing their power to gouge consumers.  The cost of service is finally falling after chocking the life out of personal and familial budgets. 

While Americans are using their pocket computers more now than ever to surf the web and Facebook dating, the telecoms are fighting for market share.

The third and fourth largest companies Sprint, Corp, and T-Mobile US, Inc. have reignited merger talks after both companies thought separately they could continue to make record profits.   As the market bottlenecks the two may be able to come together in 2017 where they could not in 2014.

In 2011, The number of Americans with active cellphones surpassed the 80% mark with many people owning more than one device.

Sprint has a current special that offers a full year of wireless service to new customers who supply their own mobile phones.  Other company’s promotions are just as aggressive.  Consumers should make their moves now.  Economists believe consolidation among the four national carriers could end the price war saying three companies with nearly equal shares are likely to be less aggressive for market share.
