It’s what we have waited all year for the NBA Finals with super teams the Cleveland Cavaliers or the East and the Golden State Warriors of the West.

In the east there is the man that’s considered one of the best to ever play the game in LeBron James and company and in the west the vilified, Kevin Durant and Steph Curry all of whom have won the coveted NBA MVP ring at least once.

Thursday night Game 1 start as a competitive affair with both teams being a bit tentative at the start.  At the end the Warriors tied the NBA record for consecutive postseason wins at 13 carving out a W for themselves with a 113-91 victory over the defending champions.

Golden state has weapons all over the court but last night it was a Curry, Durant party as they combined for 66 points, 18 assists and 14 rebounds.

Lebron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love did what they do—all three scored in double digits, but the Warriors defense was unrelenting leaving James appearing to be tired after the first half as the western team began stretching the floor causing the Cav’s some difficulty.

Game 1 was in Oakland and the nemesis will play game 2 at the same venue on Sunday, 4 June and will be streamed over the virtual connect.
