A New Jersey woman fell to her death on Saturday after she fell more than 30 feet at the World Trade Center Oculus, escalator.   The new multi-billion-dollar transportation hub in lower Manhattan has claimed its first victim – the Oculus represents a tribute for the destroyed Twin Towers there were imploded on 11 September 2001, in what is considered a white flag attack at the World Trade Center.

29-year-old, Jenny Santos fell onto the lower level of the Italian marble floor at around 5:30 am Saturday morning.  The deceased woman is a graduate of William Paterson University an according to social media she was a Phys Ed, Health and Driver’s education instructor and was once employed by the Lyndhurst, N. J. school’s system.

She was an avid outdoors-man and had traveled to, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Italy and France.

The Oculus is a winged structure, with white glass ceilings with more than 300,000 people moving through the building daily.
