From popular meteorologist to prison inmate Justin Goldstein formerly of WTNH-News team has agreed to a plea deal that is expected to see him serve three years in prison on child pornography possession charges.

The 33-year-old Hamden man was originally charged early last summer with first-degree illegal possession of child pornography, and promoting a minor in an obscene performance.   The plea agreement was achieved last week during a court appearance where the charge was reduced to second-degree possession of child pornography.

Goldstein is free on bond and is due back in court on 17, March 2017.

The initial investigation began when video files of suspected child pornography were downloaded from the Goldstein’s internet account.   The 1521 Aspen Glen Drive resident is scheduled to be sentence to 10 years in prison with three years mandatory along with 10 years’ probation and register as a sex offender.
