Tarik Black selected in U.S. Army All-American Bowl Game

Hamden teen Tarik Black wide receiver at Cheshire Academy has been selected for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.  Black is the number 1 high school player in the state and was selected along with 99 other players for the prestigious appointment. 

The Bowl game is the 17th annual and will be held on 7 January 2017, and will be televised by NBC across the country.  The contest will split the best players in the east vs. the best players in the west and will be held at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.   More than 4.3 million viewers are expected to view the event and is the top watched high school sporting event of the year. 

Many players selected by the U.S. Army All-American Bowl are later selected to play professionally, Adrian Peterson, Odell Beckham, Jr and Andrew Luck are just three of more than 300 who later played in the NFL.
