The New York Knicks picked up an important win Tuesday night despite Carmelo Anthony leaving the contest early due to a sprained right ankle.

The big – Kristaps Porzingis knocked down 26 points to help dismantle the Boston Celtics 120-114 at Madison Square Gardens. Arron Afflalo scored 20 points in the second half, walking with 24 on the night.

The rookie, Jerian Grant scored 16 points 10 in the fourth quarter, and eight assists a performance that made the coaching staff feel good about their decision. Head Coach Derek Fisher said, "It was a good win. Definitely every guy that touched the floor helped us in some way, even if it was for a minute or two."

For the Celtics, Isiah Thomas put on a scoring clinic hitting 34 points as the green and white skid into their fourth straight loss.

The Knicks will head across the river to Brooklyn on Wednesday night, Anthony is not expected to play.
