Hamden High School Ranks 117th in Connecticut

Hamden High School got a slap on the back recently when it was ranked among on the best High Schools in the State. 

Based on state standards the Green Dragons report a graduation rate of 87% with math proficiency 66% and 70% reading proficiency compared to the rest of the state of Connecticut.  The school has a student body of 1,811 students with an average expense of $20,920 per student. 

The national average of graduates is 82.2% in all states.  Below are a few of reviews from current anonymous students. 

Hamden High School was offered an overall grade of ‘B’, with 229 reviewers ranking it 3.5 stars out of five.  Niche.com gives an overall ranking of 117th in the state of Connecticut out of 1,185.  Other statistical categories are grades are below.

Overall Experience: Most of the teachers care about your education. They also like to challenge you; it's a lot of hard work, but it pays off.

Hamden High School is a four year school and is part of the Hamden Public School System.  It is the only public high school in Hamden and sits on 8 acres.  HHS was established in 1935 – the principal is Clydette Messiah.
