Pope Francis closes his visit to Cuba and heads to the United States to meet with President Barack Obama and Speak on Capitol Hill.

Since the 1959 destabilization of Cuba some 1.3 million people left the country, most landing in the US as exiles.  The day before leaving he prayed for reconciliation among all Cubans both at home and abroad.  During a Monday mass tens of thousands gathered to glean wisdom from the pontiff.

On his penultimate day he focused his message on justice and the common good of people while straying away from political rhetoric and finger pointing.

The 78-year-old Argentinian spiritual leader is scheduled to arrive in the United States on Tuesday.
