1 July was the first day active duty soldiers could purchase and wear the new uniforms.   20 installations have the uniforms available including, Ft. Bragg, Ft. Carson and Ft. Benning.

The uniform change over completion date is 1 October 2019 for active duty personnel.  The uniforms will be available for National Guard and Army Reserve soldiers next summer.   The new Operational Camouflage Pattern Army Combat Uniform will replace the current ACU, which features the Universal Camouflage Pattern.

The uniforms will also feature several other design tweaks, including pocket updates, disposal of the trouser drawstring and the dissolution of elbow and knee patch hook and loop.
