Connecticut banks will have to be repaid after today’s judgement of 31-year-old Brandon Key Bentley convicted mastermind of  a New Haven check fraud ring has been ordered to pay restitution and spend 1 year and one day in prison.  

Bentley, and two others used stolen checks, and employed cashers to monetize the forged documents.  Langston Neal and Benjii Carr were both accomplices in the plan, collectively 39 checks totaling $114,102. 

Five years of supervised probation after release is part of the sentence.
