An underage burglar has been shot by a Houston Police department officer after receiving a 911 call from a 14-year-old girl trapped inside the house with her two sisters.

Around 5p.m. on Tuesday the three girls heard someone trying to get into the back of their house, no one was home but the girls 18, 14 and 5 years old. 

The police arrived and the suspect was asked to put his hands up and he put them into his pockets where he had a stolen cell phone and a sack of hot jewelry – one officer was prompted to shoot the underage suspect seeing something shiny coming  out of his pocket.  The young man’s identity or age has not yet been released. 

Police officers shot 4 or 5 times according to reports, the young man is believed to have been shot in the leg.  He was transported to Memorial Herman Southwest and is expected to make a full recovery.

This is so sad being he is so young,  but the life he knew is over once you put yourself in

this kind of predicament. It does not excuse his behavior and the outcome could have been much worse.
