Houston native Beyoncé Knowles-Carter is planning a 1 June concert to raise funds and awareness for girls and women issues internationally.

In a video released on Saturday in celebration of Mother’s day, singers, actors and activists combine their star power to tell the world how much their own mothers have inspired them.

As the Co-founder and Artistic Director of Chime for Change, Beyoncé will perform on 1 June 2013 at The Sound of Change Live, a global concert event in London’s Twickenham Stadium.  Others scheduled to perform include John Legend, Laura Pausini, Rita Ora, Timbaland and more to be announced.

Knowles-Carter said in a recent interview, “Our goal is to call for change for girls and women in the loudest voice possible,” “I am excited for us to come together on June 1st to bring the issues of Education, Health and Justice for girls and women to the world stage.”
