Southwest Houston HPD detectives are investigating the death of an infant found in a toilet on Thursday.

Police say a maintenance worker was called to fix a stopped toilet in an apartment at the Azalea Park apartments on Bissonnet.

The clog turns out to be a human fetus.

Authorities said several people lived in the apartment.  They were home at the time of the report.  At least two of the residents were taken away for questioning.  Police are unsure how long the fetus was in the toilet and don’t know if the fetus was once alive.

A neighbor report one of the female residents was recently pregnant.

An autopsy has been ordered.
